Guerilla Groups

A Guerilla Group is group of unemployed professionals in the same employment field who meet to network and share employment information in their field at the various WIND locations.

Buddy Groups in the WIND England area

A Buddy Group is group of unemployed professionals who are not necessarily in the same professional field but who meet in more of a personal environment to provide support for each other in both "job search"-related and personal issues. They are similar to Guerilla groups, but usually meet at non-WIND locations.

Some Buddy Group Coordinators may wish to limit the size of their group for one of many reasons. Two such reasons are: to maintain focus OR the location is personal property (home). Others may not mind new members and are willing to take on more. Each Buddy List can have one of two different statuses:

• Taking new members
• Closed but can contact.

If a list is "Taking new members", all one has to do is attend a Buddy Group meeting at the specified Date, time and location.

If a list is "Closed but can contact". The Buddy Group Coordinator is saying that they can't take on new members now, but may be able to in the near future. He or she is giving you permission to call or e-mail him/her to talk over whether it would be more advisable to wait a week or two OR to start another Buddy Group in the same geographical area.

UNTIL I GET CONTACTED by the Buddy Group Coordinator the default status for ALL groups will be: Taking new members.
